Oakham Treasures Grand Opening

Oakham Treasures was officially opened on 8^th July 2008, by North Somerset's recently appointed Chairman, Councillor Ian Porter. Over 200 VIPs and guests attended the Champagne Reception, and cheered him on as he declared Oakham Treasures ‘open for business'.

I am delighted to have been asked to perform the official duty of formally launching Oakham Treasures and hope it will provide many with a visitor experience to remember!' said Chairman, Councillor Ian Porter.

The opening attracted widespread media interest and was covered on BBC Points West, HTV West, BBC and independent local radio, The Evening Post, Weston Daily Press and a host of local and specialist newspapers and publications.

Visitor numbers have boomed since launch day, and over 120 people have visited Oakham Treasures each day since its opening.
