Spinning Wheel

This lovely old spinning wheel was bought at an auction as a bag of bits, by Mr Jim Smith of Essex . Mr Smith made all the replacement parts, and restored it to its former glory. It has been used since being re-built – hence the wool on the spool. It is believed to be around 200 years old. Mr Smith kindly donated this to Oakham Treasures in 2009.
